I installed a 30 tube hot water system when building an extension to a house in West Cork. Before starting I didn’t know what a compression fitting was (being desk bound) but did a one day course with Ecologics in Bantry and with information and encouragement from this site muddled through. So really, anyone can do this. It took me far longer than expected with stops and starts and frustrations (and fernox). The spec is 30 tubes with a 3 coil insulated 200 litre boiler, old radiator as a heat dump and a Resol controller. It’s pressurised to 2 bar using a garden sprayer. The other coils are used for a wood/turf stove and oil central heating. It cost me about €2,100 including the tank € 800 and net of a government grant of €790. This excluded labour, me with a little help from brother and brother in law. Its working well but I will do some fine tuning this summer.

Thanks for your help.

Peter
