Warning! High Pressure solar salesmen - not to be trusted Forum

We have been receiving far too many calls from people who have been sold solar systems at incredibly high prices after a high pressure sales session in their home.  Please beware of these companies who employ commission only based sales people to sell their products – if the system isn't sold then the sales person does not get paid.  This results in lengthy pressure cooker sales pitches from these companies selling a solar panel system at inflated prices.

People ring us up telling us that they were sold a solar system at double the price we would sell at.  We have had complaints from pensioners and elderly people who have been subjected to sales pitches lasting 4 hours or more in their own home – once the sales person comes in they don't leave until they get a sale.  "Discounts" are offered depending on your standing in your community,  club membership etc..  which are all smoke screens hiding an over inflated end price.

At Ecologics we believe in giving you the fairest price we can for the job at hand.  That is why we advertise our prices openly – you can see them here: http://ecologics.ie/products/s…..-packages/  If a company is offering you a standard solar water heating system starting at €7000 or more then there is something definitely wrong!  A site survey should take about 30 mins to ascertain what the costs of the job are and discuss the nature of the job and your different options with you - our surveyors will be in and out in that time and a formal quotation will follow after the visit sent by email or post.  There is no reason why someone should stay in your home over this time unless they are trying a hard sell.

Whilst we would love to have your business to ourselves we feel bound to recommend that you shop around when pricing a solar water heating system.  This will make clear the differences in prices on the market right now.  And because the quality of the installation is a major influence on the performance of the system it is important the solar company you choose to install are competent and reputable.
