Vacuum Tube Grant applications
Guidelines for filling in SEI Greener Homes Application Form.
This page provides information you need to complete your application for solar panels purchased from Ecologics. You should also download guidelines on filling in the form from SEI by clicking here SEI Application Guide

Besides things you should know yourself (like your name and address) you will need the following information;
Size of system
In the Product Details section, you will need to know the size of panel you are installing. SEI gives a higher payment per square meter for vacuum tubes, but the area considered is actually the aperture area of the glass, not the total area of the panel.
In the case of our panels, the "aperture area" which is the figure you require for this form is 1.82 sq metres for a 20 x 47mm tube panel and 2.73 sq metres for a 30 x 47mm tube panel.
The following table sets out the figures you require for various panel sizes;
Ecologics Vacuum tube Grant Information
| Panel | Rated Heat Output (kW) | Aperture Area (m2) | Surface Area (m2) | Grant Requested | Estimated Annual Yield (KWh) |

Installers;
Question B2 will need an installer name and SEI registered number for that installer.
For the purposes of the grant you will need to use an installer who is registered with SEI so you will need to get their registration number. If you choose Ecologics to install your system please contact our office to get our registered installer number.
In the section on Solar Collector Type, click the box for "Evacuated Tubes"
The number of collectors will depend on the number of actual panels you have (2 if you have 2 X 30 tubes, but 3 if you have 3 X 20 tubes)
The "Total Surface Area" and "Estimated Annual Yield" are as per the chart above
Hot Water Storage
This relates to your hot water cylinder. You will usually be installing a twin coil cylinder (unless you need a 3 coil one for some reason). If you feed this from an attic tank, it is referred to as "VENTED". If the cylinder is directly fed by the mains (sometimes called pressurised) it is referred to as "UNVENTED"
Primary Circuit
If the solar panel is low in the roof and you are installing a small attic tank to feed the solar panel, you should tick "feed & vent". If the system is pressurised you should tick "sealed system". If you have no pump or controller
and the panel is below the level of your cylinder you should tick "thermosyphon". In almost all cases you should tick the box for "indirect" (you cannot really use direct with a vacuum tube system).
Last few boxes
The Registered Product List – SEI Product ID. This is the registered number for the product. In the case of our solar panels the relevant numbers are;
47mm Panels
SEI-ST-339 T
58mm Panels
SEI-ST-378 T
The product make is "Ecologics" as is the manufacturer.
The product model numbers for 47mm panels are TS-20 for the 20 tube, and TS-30 for the 30 tube.
The product model numbers for 58mm panels is TS-58-PA for all panels
The supplier is ECOLOGICS. The rated heat output can be taken from the table above.
