EasyFit Solar Coil

Ecologics is pioneering innovative solutions to bring quality low cost green technology to Irish households, in this we are happy to bring the EasyFit Solar coil to the Irish market.
Making Solar Easy
Normally when a solar panel system is installed it involves putting the panels on your roof and fitting a new hot water cylinder which has two coils one for your normal immersion and one for the heat from the solar panels.
Now with the new Ecologics EasyFit coil many households can eliminate the need for replacing their cylinder reducing the cost and hassle of installation. The Ecologics EasyFit Solar Coil is ideal for homes with an existing hot water cylinder with a good cover of insulation and an electrical immersion port at the top. The coil comes in 3 sizes and is designed for up to 3sqm of solar collector. An Ecologics 30 tube evacuated tube panel is a perfect fit for this coil.

How Easy is it?
1. Take your existing top electrical immersion out of your cylinder,
2. Replace with the Easy Fit Solar Coil,
3. Install your solar panels on the roof.
4. Install your piping and controls and connect to the EasyFit Solar coil
5. and away you go.
No draining of the system, ripping out the old cylinder and re-plumbing a new one. No need to remake all the joints and check the central heating system, no need to re-fill the central heating system and check for leaks. A huge amount of time and labour is saved.
Grants are also available trough SEI towards the cost of installing the associated solar panels
More Detail
The unit is designed to enable solar hot water heating to be installed into an existing hot water cylinder, with minimal disruption, interference and cost. The idea is to reduce the cost of a solar installation and to optimize the financial savings.
The unit is not intended to be used in a new dwelling or when a new hot water cylinder is going to be installed in an old dwelling. In practice this means that the insulation should be at least 40mm thick, for cylinders with thinner insulation, this can be remedied easily & cheaply with an additional jacket. The heat exchanger area is 0.5sqm, the associated solar collector area should therefore be no more than 3sqm.
We find many houses have fewer full-time occupants than the living space permits, so hot water consumption is low and can be met by a modest sized collector matched to the existing small cylinder.
Back up heating should be programmed to come on at the end of the day only, giving dedicated solar preheat volume the required time.
The unit has threaded 3/8” BSP connections. DN12 fittings to connect to flexible stainless steel hose are available.
The 2kW immersion heater that comes with the unit has an encoloy element, suitable for hard water. The immersion heater has a thermostat & high temperature cut out, and is ROHS compliant, satisfying all UK regulations.
