Canadian solar company after our own hearts

It’s great when someone agrees with you! We recently came across a very well written solar manual from a solar company in Canada called Solar Supply Canada http://www.solarsupplycanada.com/. Written by Brian Bot it is an exhaustive and realistic manual obviously based on well earned experience installing solar thermal systems.

Chinese made solar panels

We particularly like Brian’s opinion on Chinese made vacuum tubes which is also realistic and mirrors our own experience, he says:

“On a side note…. The stigma associated with Chinese made collectors. There is only one reason flat plates are manufactured in North America and not Evacuated Tubes. This is because we can actually manufacture flat plates here and we can’t manufacture evacuated tubes here. The investment required to produce evacuated tubes in North America is large. The investment to manufacture flat Plates are relatively low. So what does this have to do with China? China has a domestic market that boasts 66 percent of the words installed systems. They have over 32 million installs that are typically all evacuated tubes. Their export market is relatively low compared to their domestic market. We. As North Americans, are simply taking advantage of the mass production facilities located in China to serve their own domestic market place. I have personally visited the manufacturing plants in China and in North America and would have to say without a shadow of doubt that Chinese collector manufacturing is far superior to North American (there – I said it) I think the North American companies take advantage of North American Pride sometimes to sell their product.”

Great value

Like Brian in Canada, it is our experience that Chinese made solar vacuum tubes are great value because of three simple facts:
1. The solar panels are reasonable in price and therefore the cost of the energy they produce is low – a good investment in energy production.
2. The manifold’s of the solar collectors and evacuated tubes are simple in construction meaning there is very little that can go wrong with them.
3. When the solar tubes come to the end of their operational life they are incredibly cheap to replace meaning the operational life of the entire system can be elongated. This gives incredible value in long term energy production and is a very sustainable product with little waste to dispose of at the end of the tubes’ life.

At Ecologics we offer a number of different solar panels from all over the world including Ireland, Austria and China. All have their advantages and disadvantages so don’t discount any make of solar panel without assessing your options first. We are happy to help ! Email us here
